This place was suggested by friend I was visiting and then got Yelp to find directions to get there. Street parking you have to pay for using coins for one hour increments. I was lucky to park very close to the entrance to Indian snacks store/ restaurant set up. You can order Masala Dosa which I ordered and liked it so decided to take home some cooked spinach curry, peas and paneer-Indian cheese cubes curry as well as Samosas which I could not resist eating during my drive of 3 hrs back up state NY home. It's small store with varieties of Indian sweets which you can buy by weight in lbs or fraction. Reasonable pricing with attentive service by owners snd employees.
I made wrong order which the manager said I CAN return but he doesn’t want to take it b/c he won’t be able to sell it. How ridiculous, he totally screws me over however he is honest that he is screwing me; lol he can lie and say “our machine doesn’t process returns.” But no he was honest and told me he going to take advantage of me….. I’m speechless

I used to be a neighbor of Surya Sweets Snacks since I was 9 years old, watching it literally switch sides from 1 side of 251st Street to the other side, closer to the library. Overall, I've seen this spot flourish over the years, keeping up a light-hearted vibe of family accompanies by delicious food, all of which is vegetarian. I've always found this to be a good pick-me-up kinda spot, though I have a lot of memories here with people I no longer care for, nothing can really take from a restaurant what it brings itself: unique flavors strong enough to isolate in a memory, regardless of other senses involved. Why I say 4/5 instead of 5 comes from the same concern that I experience in all South Asian restaurants, which is that there is an outward distaste displayed from the workers when someone of a different ethnicity or race steps in, which is a bad vibe during financial transactions. Other than that, the goods outweigh the 1 bad that ultimately has nothing to do with the food, but more so my decision to pretty much spend no real time in the store, but rather quickly grab snacks mishti, and dip out within 1-3 minutes.
