Friends Of The Vine - Redondo Beach

NOT NILES AND FRASIER'S WINE BAR!Hubby and I went for the first time one weeknight during the holidays, and were instantly treated like old friends. Fred, the owner, is a wonderful host who introduced everyone to everyone and before long, I a giant, self conscious introvert was chatting and laughing right along with everyone else. We met really cool, interesting people and had a blast!I’m no wine connoisseur, but our selections were delicious. The service was friendly and prompt, and they kept our water glasses filled, which was greatly appreciated.The venue itself was classy, warm and homey, and there’s a lovely outdoor patio that’s sometimes open.I definitely look forward to visiting again very soon!

I visited Friends of the Vine last night for a friend's birthday gathering. The wine was fine, but the service was horrible.The woman that was helping our table would not make eye contact with me or the friend that I was sitting next to. The tables around us would be served, a new person would join our group and they would be served, but my friend and I were blatantly ignored. We both felt extremely uncomfortable.We were finally able to get her attention only because an older gentleman saw us trying to unsuccessfully get her attention for the 5th time and he told her so.The ambience definitely felt like a place for locals only, and not in a fun way. I will not be back.

Came in here on a whim on a first date and boy did I have a time! The ladies working the night I came were a sister duo and they were super cool and knowledgeable about wines. They don't have a full menu but their chauterrie board hits the spot. Cute, laid back and it's a few lookers in here ladies. Might just be a little spot for a date night in Redondo! Give it a try.

Love this place! Great ambiance, great wine selection, and great family run business. Fred, Tracy, Kat, and everyone else are absolutely amazing make you feel like home, and keep the wine flowing. No stuffy atmosphere, but rather friends you haven't met. Highly recommend! If you are looking for stuffy and pretentious vibe, this is not the place for you.
