Goldenes Kreuz - Regensburg

This caffe is centrally located in an old building that was a hotel for higher aristocracy from 1531-1898. we were there for afternoon drinks like coffee, juices (only canned), wein, aperitivs and the place was almost empty, but the service was lousy. lousy. as in inconspicuous, slow, even some commands forget to apologize. all beverages were of average quality to relatiw high passes. there are much better caffes in regensburg.

A waiter went and looked for an English menu as soon as he heard me talk. the choice of cake was amazing and when I settled down on the beeen puncture, I was not disappointed. coffee was good and the ambiente also pleasantly early on a Saturday morning. view of the mountains of the tourist. great place for a break in regensburg.

Beautiful breakfast, I recommend the 'Fitness breakfast '. fantastic tortes and cakes in a fantastic location.

Disappointed that I could not substitute water for tea/coffee when trying to order breakfast. I just didn't want the caffeine. I was with a group of women (all native speakers) who were surprised that the request was declined. The server just didn't seem that interested...in us so when he walked by again, we flagged him down (took two tries) so we could pay and leave. The drink order for our party of 5 was accurate.

The place has so much history inside that make you feel warm and welcome! Delicious breakfast, low prices, nice service and a big desert selection!
