One of the requirements was wearing a face mask and that they would provide one if needed. Every thing was orderly and professional. As I was shopping I noticed several customers without masks. I mentioned to several employees but nothing appeared to get done. It should be in their procedures as how to handle. Walkie talkies direct to security and unruly customers escorted out with a no return order. I don 't care whether you think this mask venue is nonsense or not. A business does have the right to dictate how they wish to run. You have the right to not patronize. You do not have the right to attempt your own rules and the rest be damned
It turns out that Allegro has been around for about 40 years. Their business model is centered around natural food and treating their employees right which makes it an ideal partner for Whole Foods. Most of their locations are within Whole Foods stores as they are a wholly owned subsidiary.
LOVE Whole Foods. Customer service may be slipping a little though. I called the butcher to see if they can make sausage links a little smaller. I end up waisting a lot because I can't eat a whole one. The butcher says they can't make them any smaller because of the virus. What???? Lol
I like this Whole Foods a lot more than my local store. The employees here are super friendly and awesome. There are explicit no smoking signs on the patio and one of the employees actually went out to politely ask a lady to not smoke so close to the building. I feel like most of the times the employees kind of let it slide but I was really appreciative that he went out of his way to do that. There are some Reno touches to this store that include offerings from local businesses in Reno like the Lead Dog beer that they carried. There's also some cute signage that lets you know this is Reno's Whole Foods. They had some really great deals going on at the time including 2 for $6 bottles of Health-Ade kombucha and soups that were also a few bucks off. I had resist getting in on the good deal since I was on vacation. I think the store might be a little bit smaller than other Whole Foods that I've been to but they still had all the different sections, just on a smaller scale.
I've always been a fan of these markets. I had one in my old hometown and it's funny that it literally is in the same condition and size of the Reno one. Small and old. I feel that Whole Foods has really gone downhill since Amazon acquired it several years ago. At first when they made the purchase I thought that this would be a excellent fit for the company. I was hoping that the prices would go down a bit and the service would be even better. And I hoped that the quality of the produce would also improve... well sadly I don't think anything has improved since the acquisition. I have found that the produce has gone way downhill and they are still using plastic boxes to sell Basil for example. That is not ok. They last bundle of basil I bought which was in a plastic box was all black and ruined! I bought 2 boxes since I was making a caprese salad. This was bad I had to go out to Raleys and get yet another boxed basil that was good enough for my salad. The boxes are super annoying... I've been to this location 4 times and it's always very busy. I have found that other grocery stores have much better, fresher produce so I'm probably not going to go back. I think the Trader Joe's is much better. Come on WF get rid of the plastic boxes!
