STAY AWAY. This guesthouse should be SHUT DOWN. Charges are upwards from 600 but behavior of the family, service, cleanliness are pathetic. The toilet was dirty, cabinets tables had layers of dust, bedsheets were under layers of dust. Blankets smelled were not only used but stored for ages without washing. We took 2 rooms asked for discount on which the woman of the family replied very rudely. We took the rooms as there was nothing else available in Rewalsar. Upon check in they said we don't give toilet paper, towel, or soap. At night when we realised blankets smell went down to request for fresh, they said put the blankets in sun tomorrow. The next day no one asked us about it. They keep their roof locked so forget about sun. When we went to get water bottles filled, the man of the family grumbled said you can get water from the temple. Two times in the day we stood outside their kitchen for water their faces would drop as if we asked for their kidney. We had to be in Rewalsar so we stayed on (big mistake). We asked for long term prices after 2 days were told 500 p/n. Mind you, rooms weren't clean blankets were still dirty. There's strict restriction on washing clothes so after 5 days when we washed 2 t shirts they complained about it. We insisted on cleaning, so a kitchen staff did basic sweeping, bed sheet change. All surfaces, bathroom still dirty. After saying 10 times the blankets weren't changed. People smoke cigarettes outside room, peak inside, large dustbins stay filled all time inviting mosquitoes insects. But now comes the amazing part. After 4 more days we again requested for cleaning. They didn't suggest it. First, they said tomorrow then reluctantly agreed as if we were asking for something unreasonable. The same poor cleaning with just blanket covers changed was done. We picked up hair filth from the toilet drainage. The next day their main cleaning help returned (after 2 mnths). She was sweeping outside our room so we asked her to clean our rooms. So much dirt filth she swept out we were disgusted we had been in the rooms for 9 days. The next day when we gave the key for cleaning, we returned to find the rooms dirty. Seems like the cleaning help got an earful for cleaning our rooms. When I talked to the host/woman of the family, she rudely said our room was cleaned for 2 days (woah, such a big deal). When I asked her did she know how dirty rooms we were given, she with a swollen face rudely asked me to FIND ANOTHER PLACE for this is how their guesthouse is. No apologies for anything being so dirty as if we were there to harass her were a burden. This Korlam kitchen is also a guesthouse. Riwotsang is another place down the street these 2 keep recommending each other. They seem to be connected so their properties have mixed up names on maps. Riwotsang (one down the road) showed us their rooms even when they were booked for 3 days but didn't tell us. If the 2 are connected one can't expect anything from them either. It's like both know Rewalsar has limited options so run a dirty monopoly there. They keep saying we can have our food paratha etc when we asked for breakfast. As if they only want to serve their food to their people. What’s about that? What a stupid place! If they're so frustrated with the work of running a place why not SHUT IT? We left when she told us to find another place. She charged us 600 even though long term price was 500. The woman, her husband, the daughter all were so rude grumpy I wonder what's so wrong with their lives. Were we paying her or was she paying us? They should shut the whole thing down, learn about cleaning practice goodness for 2 yrs, then think about opening. Or QUIT forever. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
