Some meals don't allow you to choose between crispy or original, which I find confusing. Additionally, I waited over 20 minutes for my combo and another 20 minutes for my takeout meal.
This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I was impressed! I tried the spicy wings and they did not disappoint. The sweet potato fries were tasty and the biscuit was nice and tender. As another reviewer mentioned, make sure to plan your visit accordingly since everything is made fresh, and it’s definitely worth it! I’ll be returning for sure!
Additionally, there are no prices listed on the website. While you can order tea online, food cannot be ordered through the site, which is baffling. Having an online ordering system would greatly help clarify what items are available and their prices. When I called to place the order, I was unable to see the menu, and I mistakenly agreed to what I thought was a small combo of 6 wings, only to find out upon arrival that I had ordered a family meal for $22. That was definitely not my intention for a lunch meant for one person. I also didn’t get a total over the phone, and I take partial responsibility for not asking. The lady on the phone mentioned that their only combos were 2 PC, 4 PC, and 6 PC, which is again inaccurate compared to their actual menu (I’ve attached photos for reference). Upon arrival, I noticed that they do offer thighs, which means I could have opted for the 3 PC combo with thighs instead of the 6 PC family meal and accepted the higher price for larger pieces. I've taken pictures of the menu at the location so I can better understand my options for future orders. I’m disappointed that in addition to the misleading online menu, they did not provide paper menus for customers to take with them. Please update your online menu, allow customers to order food online, and provide paper menus for guests to take home.
The service was good and the place was clean. However, there’s no curbside service. The quarter chicken combo feels a bit pricey at $9, especially since it comes with two small drumsticks (not as generous as those in Taiwan), along with fries, a biscuit, and a fountain drink. The batter and flavor have a distinctive Taiwanese twist. It's interesting to note that TKK is part of Kung Fu Tea at this location – a cool concept!
The prices are a bit high considering the size of the chicken and the freshness of the cooked meat. It doesn't quite compare to the fried chicken offered at Taiwanese restaurants in Plano. I hope they enhance the quality of their food before the grand opening. It seems like the higher cost might be largely due to the packaging and branding.
