East On 1 - Richmond

There are many Chinese restaurants in Richmond, but we chose to go to East on 1 for dinner because my aunt recommended it.

Wow, avoid this restaurant at all costs. It's no wonder there are no Chinese restaurants in Steveston - there seems to be a curse in this area.

Although it may appear small from the outside, the restaurant actually has a larger seating area inside. We visited with a friend who recommended some dishes, and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food.

As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I really wished that there would be a great place for dim sum in Steveston. This place is just ...... really not good. The food is not freshly made at the restaurant and some of the dim sum was the worst I've had in Richmond. Nobody what it wanted to touch certain dishes because we very quickly found out that some of the wraps on the dim sum's (such as the transparent wrap on the har gau or shrimp dumpling) were too tough to eat. Sad.

This place is now run by the same people of Taste Good Seafood (on Marine & Fraser). There is limited parking and must park on the street. Not much AC as the place was hot. Food was so so. We ordered BC crab ... for the $27/lb, the crab had no meat ... it was more of a "water crab". The original place on Marine is much better.The Steveston location tailors to tourist. Oh, don't bother with the dimsum here.Don't waste your money ... so many better options in Richmond.
