Feedback gevenI visited this restaurant over the weekend for a quick lunch around 1pm. There is ample free parking available in the complex.
Recently went back to Osaka Restaurant and it was clear that they have a new chef or have recently changed ownership, or maybe even both.
We ordered a dinner box that was supposed to come with Ebi Sunomono and rice. We asked the server if the dinner box included the Ebi Sunomono.

We went there on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 PM and we were able to get a table right away. The menu has the usual offerings including udon noodles, bento boxes, sashimi and nigiri sushi. There were 4 of us. Our two friends each ordered the lunch special teriyaki beef bento box – miso soup, teriyaki beef, green salad, vegetables and prawn tempura, 1 piece house appetizer and rice.My spouse and I ordered the following to share:• Spicy salmon roll ($4.25)• Spicy tuna roll ($4.25)• Sushi and sashimi bento box ($11.99) – 3 pieces each of tuna and salmon sashimi (looked like farmed salmon), 4 pieces of nigiri sushi including tuna, salmon, ebi & tai with miso soup, green salad, vegetable tempura and 2 prawn tempura , 1 piece tempura salmon (house appetizer) and riceThe salmon and tuna rolls were not spicy and lacked flavouring. The roll rice was a little on the dry side; rice sitting too long? The miso soup for all 3 orders was only warm and not hot. The tempura batter was good – light and fluffy. All the other components of the bento box were okay. Our portion of the bill came to $20.49 before tips.Breakdown of rating as follows:• Service - 3 out of 5; adequate service• Value – 3.5 out of 5; good value for what you pay• Quality of food – 2.75 out of 5; dry sushi rice for rolls, warm miso soup• Ambience – 3 out of 5Overall, for the price, serving size and the quality of the food I would rate it, at best - average, 3 out 5.Notes and Tips• This is a small (narrow) restaurant with less than 40 seats located in Blundell Centre.• The other Japanese restaurant Sushi Han in the strip mall complex was closed on Sunday.• Lots of parking• Handicap /wheelchair access to washroom is tight• Lots of eating options in the mall including Subway, Bamboo Express, Starbucks, McDonald's and a Thai restaurant
