Clearly not the A team tonight given minimal eye contact at the bar, no acknowledgement I was waiting, and then when my turn came up, he had to ask me whether I was waiting despite being there for 2 or 3 minutes. At the same time, no please or thanks mentioned and despite holding a menu to order food, and the bar staff saw me waiting to do this, when I eventually got served, I was told the kitchen didn't open until 6pm it was 4 minutes to 6!! Trouble is the Fullers Pride is really good so I will probably be going in again, but it will be reluctantly!!
This is my longstanding rugby pub. Last night I visited for another purpose; pre theatre. Guess what? It was just as good although would have been perfect if a few bar snacks had been available.
Drinks and dinner for 3, Friday evening. Food delicious (bangers and mash, fish and chips, gammon). Beer fresh (Fullers' ESB) Footie and rugby what else do you need?
Simply the best Pub in Richmond, great Landlords, Managers Staff, also Dog Friendly with free treats at the bar! Just like pubs used to be, I go here most match days but also during quieter times where I can relax with the my paper, steak pie a pint of ESB! though be warned nincompoops are not tolerated, any ungentlemanly conduct is dealt with swiftly firmly, no Riff-Raff!
