Upon arrival, we found that the setup was similar to a school dinner, with pre-carved meat and a conveyor belt system. The quality of the food was average and it was evident that most ingredients were frozen. I would suggest trying a Toby carvery instead, but the food at the Cricket Club was still edible.
My friends and I had visitors for the weekend and were in search of a place for a carvery. We decided to give this restaurant a try based on recommendations from a few friends. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The quality of the food was poor and overpriced. The dishes were served lukewarm and it was evident that the Yorkshire puddings and potatoes were not homemade, but rather from a packet. It was an embarrassing experience for us.
Very poor Sunday lunch. Cold and bland. Not much else I can say. Drink prices were reasonable and staff friendly.
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at a great price. The beef, pork, and chicken were all tender and delicious, and the variety of vegetables, gravy, and sauces was amazing. Unfortunately, we didn't have room to try any desserts, but they looked fantastic. The staff was excellent and the restaurant had a beautiful setting with views of the cricket green and Richmond.
