Levantine’s Syrian Cafe Cuisine

This was one of the best places in Rochester for Syrian food. Everything was freshly made. My husband had the Lamb shank he loved the flavors, and rice was delightful. Loved the mezze platter picking hummus, mama babaganus, Fava beans, tabouli salad, and falafel. Friendly hosts. You order at the counter and pay. They serve the food to the table when its ready. Tables and overall restaurant were very clean.Vegetarian options: Excellent selection of items for vegans. Salad bowls, for example, or mezze platter.

The absolute best and most authentic middle eastern food in the Rochester area. As a middle eastern family we are very critical of middle eastern food, we have tried several local restaurants and Levantine’s is by far the most authentic. It is our go-to whenever we want a home cooked meal without doing the cooking ourselves. The only thing better than the food is the service; Mohammed, his family employees always provide a five-star experience. I highly recommend Levantines!

The dining room and waiting area is uncomfortably small, I probably got bumped into 4 times while waiting in line. Then waited for 40 minutes for my takeout order before I got fed up and asked for a refund. The manager was prompt and gave me my money back and the food I ordered. I had high hopes for this place, even after the wait and not wanting the food, but the portions of the rice plate were very small; barely a scoop of salad and maybe 5 pieces of cut up meat on plain white rice served with cut up pre-packaged pita. Beef kofta wrap was good. Iced coffee style drink was good. Probably wouldn't go back for food.

The food is amazing. Unfortunately, today I waited 45+ minutes to get my take out order (single rice plate). 5 stars normally but three today. ?
