Gelato Envy - Rockaway

A gelato lover's dream. Their ever-changing seasonal flavors are always a hit. The variety is fantastic, and every flavor is a winner. The staff is friendly, and it's a must-visit for gelato enthusiasts in the area.

They could expand on variety of flavors but they did have a few interesting ones. I tried sweet corn and blueberry and cookies and cream. It was interesting how cookies and cream was like a java chip color. I was caffeinated enough that day that I was glad there wasn't more caffeine in it.. Cookies and cream is so classic it's hard to mess up so they did a good job. I think they might have missed with the corn flavor though. It doesn't really embody sweet corn well though I can taste the savory side of it. Blueberry was barely tasted in it. Overall this parlor is not too busy even on a Saturday night. They were generous with scoops for a value of $6.50 for small cup of two flavor scoops. I really appreciated that! Line moved rather quickly and they had a friendly professional demeanor.

Yummmm... so good. I wish i had found this place sooner... but then again if i did my pre-diabetis would be a full fledged one. To be fair, losing a toe or two would be totally worth it

Since my stepson just returned from a vacation in Italy, there's been lots of talk of Italian food and delicacies in the house. Therefore, my wife and I decided to try out Gelato Envy on a Sunday afternoon. This store is located in a little strip mall off of Rt 46 in Rockaway. Prior to going, I checked up on its history on the website. It's very impressive that the owner imports ingredients from around the world. He's also well trained on the art of gelato making. When you get there and see the different flavors in the display case, it's a tough choice. Fortunately, you can sample. I decided to go with the chocolate hazelnut (hazelnuts imported from Italy) and my wife chose the raspberry cheesecake. Both were delicious, but after tasting my wife's, I was jealous I didn't order hers, that one was amazing! This is a really good local business. If you're in the area, give it a try!

An absolute staple of our summer nights. Hands down the best dessert in town.
