I come to Slapfish because they have the BEST fish n chips around. That said, this time was a bit underwhelming. The chips (fries) that are typically hot and crispy, were only warm, and a little soggy. The real disappointment was the fish though. It was definitely hot and crunchy, but it tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. The tarter sauce masked the bad oil taste a bit, but it was still a let down. Typically my experiences here are 5 stars, so I hope my next visit will be better. I'll definitely be back.
I absolutely loved this place. I had the lobster taquitos appetizer and clobster grilled cheese with fries. That sandwich tasted so good! I’ll definitely be coming back!
In Rockville for a meeting and had time for lunch. We decided on Slapfish since I like seafood and had never heard of Slapfish. Very nice menu with good seafood choices. We decided on the fish chips and glad we did. Very fresh fish cooked just right with an amazing flavor. I have been to England and Ireland and have had some good fish chips, but Slapfish takes the prize for the best. I am glad we stopped, and I now know where to go for great fish and chips. Stop in and check out Slapfish.
I stumbled across this great restaurant as I was enjoying Bethesda during one of my outings. When we arrived I was glad the place was not busy since I had so many questions. It is a casual restaurant that requires you to order at the counter and then you can select your seat. By the time our food arrived, the crowd rushed in. We ordered the traditional lobster roll and the ultimate fish taco. Let me start off by stating the lobster roll was perfection with the right amount of lobster on a nice buttered roll. I wanted to keep the roll up to my mouth and never stop chewing but there was too much lobster. The ultimate taco was huge paired together with the right seasonings and fresh herbs had me asking where have you been all my life. The fries were hot served with a spicy sauce (forget the ketchup). Afterwards, I wanted to lick my fingers and sit back but I remembered I was in public. Next time I will definitely take it home!
