The pizza marinara is happily vegan, so I ordered that along with the zuppa di ceci (chickpea soup) for lunch. The soup was very hearty and flavourful. The pizza, like I mentioned, has a nice thin crust which is cooked until crispy with just the right amount of sauce on top, plus lots of fresh parsley and a drizzle of olive oil. I never thought I'd like oil drizzled on top of my pizza but it was perfect. Loved the way the parsley made it taste so bright and fresh. I'm still dreaming about that pizza a month later!
Right in the heart of Trastevere, there's this subtle restaurant which serves traditional Italian cuisine. Pizza, home made pasta (Amatriciana pasta) and carbonara. Wonderful and tasty! Fabulous wine list. Can you believe a brunello de montalcino, 2008, for €38 and Prosecco for €3. Wow, I'm in heaven. Attentive service and a place to which we will return. Sit outside and enjoy a glass or two.
I have lived on Scala for a week, and I have had the pleasure of trying so many wonderful restaurants. This place sucks. I am sure they are using a microwave for things they shouldn't. The house wine, which is hard to mess up, is disgusting. Rome has so many amazing food, pick almost anywhere else in this area so you don't miss out on some amazing Italian food!
Abbiamo mangiato bene, ottima amatriciana, piatti super abbondanti, fenicola molto gentile e saretta
Persone fantastiche molto gentili abbiamo passato una bella serata. Consigliato .
