I prefer to plan dinge, especially restaurant visits-prespective. we had come to the city for the first time, and I had three or four places in my head. but it was windy. my wife had just made her haare, and we met with the local parking regime. a long way to say we stumbled on this place-saw some decent looking natives already sitting and there was a shot. if I had seen the Tripadvisor profile, with almost the same reveiws running from terrible to excellent, and many of people who had written only one or two reviews, we would have done a 180 degree rotation. but glad we stayed. this 50-year-old restaurant-Cabaret=theater is full of entertainment memorabilia. While much seems to be the little ligen, we are tags of the local theater and live entertainment and the environment is quite charming. the rather narrow menu suggested that ravioli was their specificity. we chose ravioli with salmon and it turned out that it is an interesting concoction. our Italian friends could submit an international protest, but the unique combination of baked salmon slivers (too much salty,) miniature ravioli and a crust of parmesan and perhaps another cheese was good in a home way. we had a fine bottle cote du rhone, local quiet water, and desserts of chocolate mousse and abage blanc, both of which were quite respectable. the entire register card came to 65 euro, and we could have densed even less if we took the tag menu that looked pretty good to go to other tables. we are in a hurry to go back: no. but it was a pleasant local experience; and proves that they could have a good time just by winging it.
So, my pasta was pretty average, but the wee was great and the steak of my man was tender and tasteful. for me is at least 50% of the joy of the ambiente and this place has it a lot. local people love it clearly as it was packed (in contrast to most other restaurants). bill was 77€, which was quite high for what we had to eat and drink, but we are very glad that we chose la charette.

OK, so my pasta was fairly average but the wine was superb and my husband's steak was tender and flavoursome. For me, at least 50% of the enjoyment is the ambience and this place has it bucket loads.
