We stumbled over this restaurant during the tour and were very satisfied with the result. there were three lunch specialties, and since we were three, we had all three. all the appetizers and meals were delicious and the meal was also a glass. the cost was very reasonable.
Sat there for lunch and had a very pleasant meal. I would recommend it thoroughly because the service was good, so was the house wine
Having had one of the best meals of my life in Domme in the Dordgone at Cabanoix et Chataignes (see Trip Advisor review), I then experienced my worst meal out in my life at this place. Unfortunately it 's going to feel my wrath as we...ended up there by accident we had gone to find Le Petit Auberge restaurant which is next door only to find it 's now closed for the Summer (yes very strange for a highly ranked eaterie in Rouen) and being with a pregnant partner we opted for nearest available food. We agreed on taking 'a gamble ' eating at Le Bamyan. Oh what fools we were for doing so. Waiting 45 minutes for a starter that can only be described as toxic greasy woefulness was the unpleasant 'starter ' do not choose the pakora unless you 're a) prepared to wait, b) enjoy grease and lots of it, c) like tasteless food and d) want to waste your money. Yes we waited nearly an hour for 3 x slices of potato encased in greasy orange batter with a piece of lettuce the size of a postage stamp and one olive that looked out of date 10 years ago i kid you not. The main was slightly better than the starter (well it couldn 't be any worse) I had 2 rank meat balls with tomato sauce and 'perfumed rice ' all of which bore mediocre slop on a plate. The most entertaining part of the meal was observing people walk by trying to avoid an area of dog faeces. Says it all really.
Stumbled on this little restaurant at lunch time and had a coffee.. the owner spent some time with us to explain his restaurant, how long he had been there and to practice his English. We decided to return for dinner and were glad we did....Authentic Afghan food cooked superbly with attention to detail... a small, intimate restaurant that was comfortable and relaxing... the owner once again took time to explain the dishes and assist us in our choices. Surprisingly economical.. certainly worth a try
