The Fiddler - ROUSE HILL

The Mean Fiddler days were more fun, watch a few fights then sleep it off in the field opposite. Now it's your typical suburban family-friendly megapub. The original building is looking worse for wear on the outside and is closed up with the grand entrance...naturally off the car park. The inside of the old section is pleasant and the sprawling courtyards are nice. Staff were ok but a bit in your face. The drinks are a bit expensive, the food is more expensive so I went up the road to Meat Fire instead.

Reception was so bad. We asked them 3 times about a party host 's name and 3 times they came back with a 'NO, your host did not book here . We gave them 3 sets of searches, first name, last name, middle name but still came...back with a NO answer. Unfortunately the party host was too busy to answer our call so we ended up going home. The building has hidden rooms that we were not aware of so we couldn 't find the place. The name of the host was on their list all along, but they were just too lazy to search for it. The host 's husband was told the same story when he checked in but he insisted that his wife made the booking so they have to find the name and of course they did.

Everytime we come we feel like part of the family always seems to be the same doorman on and he is always happy and helpful. The recent changes to menu are great and the kids love the masssive playground

I must share my disappointment I rang this afternoon to book a table for my birthday with family and friends on Saturday 2nd April 2022 The lovely lady said I can’t book as the fiddler is only accepting 20. occupancy BUT I can walk over...from our motel … ie staying on site to SQUAT on a table to accommodate our 16 guests I’ve been going to the fiddler for over 30 years and I’ve NEVER not been able to book a table … we’ve had Wakes … birthdays …. Weddings and more occasions as this venue and have NEVER known this lack of service … U don’t squat to get a table It’s just not done Carol kendall-richardson Marriage celebrant

This place improves, the menu is not big and cheap, but the portion sizes are enormous and eating is good. it was for a weekday lunch and the atmosphere was pleasant, could be different to other times, but was happy with our visit
