Am Niederwald - Rüdesheim am Rhein

Arrogant and fun at my daughters when they and I asked a simple icy and two glasses wein. was fun when we were gone. bad for families!

We came at the top of the hill with the gondola, just as it began to rain. to the happiness was the restaurant at the perfect location for both of us to enjoy the view, stay out of the rain and get (other) glass riesling. a little...not organized to get a table. could be because the place was packed with a high-time celebration waiting for the rain to stop so they could go outside to make photos. we managed to get a table after a bed and were served with great attention. I didn't try to eat.

Okay. this place is not cheap and cheerful as its location beside one of the most popular tourist attractions in Germany, but it has an incredible location and the food and service were very good. that said, it is neither expensive for quality, and portion sizes that they receive, the prices are medium. we had a nice fresh homemade suppe (6 euro) followed by a generous help from pork in cider soße (13 euro for the main course) both courses were very good, and the local wine we had to wash off was exceptional, without being expensive for where this place is. a word about the service, we found it good. no problems, only politely efficient service with a smile. if you wish to have an outstanding meal in a beautiful modern restaurant in an excellent location, then this meets the place.

We stopped here just for coffee etc. on our way back from the Monument. Just a stunning view over the River. A bit expensive but what onw should expect given the view!

A restaurant by the Niederwald statue, can be reached by car or chairlift. Beautiful view of the Rhine and Ruedesheim . Had only a drink .
