We had a positive experience at the restaurant, with a young gentleman who was professional and clearly passionate about his job taking our order. The menu had a wonderful variety of food options to choose from. I opted for the Halloumi and pumpkin salad, which was generously loaded with both ingredients and not just filled with greens to fill up the plate. The coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere and music were enjoyable – not too loud, but adding to the overall ambiance with great tunes. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
I’ve visited these Rutherford homemaker shops many times since buying a new home and have spent hours shopping. It’s astounding that this is the one cafe to go to for lunch or coffee. In terms of the food on offer, having these shops to themselves explains how they stay in business. We sat at a table with plastic chairs too low for the table. Cheap plastic Halloween decorations all around .. perhaps for the American diners? I’m not sure why skeletons and spiders are being celebrated but anyhow it’s the food that’s the biggest problem. Mum had shredded beef that came as a huge bowl of lightly fried frozen fries with the beef tossed around amongst them, bbq sauce drizzled over and some cheese. Looked terrible, cheap and sloppy. I had a cheese and feta roll which was straight out of a box in the supermarket freezer as bland as mass produced food is. Waiter didn’t know which drink had the soy milk and which didn’t .. we had to taste them to find out. Mine had milk spilt down the side of the glass. If these two complexes were joined up with some decent eateries they’d attract more customers and encourage the existing customers to stay around longer. Instead this is the one place to grab a coffee or a bite to eat and it’s this bad. They obviously don’t care because they have the place to themselves .. next time we’ll go back to drinking our bottled water and going elsewhere for a meal. Honestly the food at the Bunnings cafe is better.
The staff were very nice and helped with food options for gluten free and vegan. Tables were left dirty for a long time, we waited over an hour for our meal and had to remind them we ordered drinks. 2 meals were missing components, but the staff were quick and happy to resolve the issue. They have reasonable prices but the food was not very nice, we left most of it on the plates. Coffees were not great either. I would not recommend this cafe or return there.
The Caesar salad with the chicken schnitzel is such a delicious, filling meal and I always find that staff are exceptional in their customer service. They’re always friendly and welcoming and it feels like it’s not only a good spot for the workers to grab a quick coffee but a great spot for mums and bubs too. Plenty of high chairs too and extremely family friendly.
