Dumpling Inn Shanghai Saloon

Soup was hot it literally burned my mouth. Not sure how long I’m supposed to wait to eat food served to the table but apparently 5 minutes is not nearly long enough. The manager came out and instead of apologizing informed me that she had never received a complaint like that before. Terrible customer service and the food is mediocre at best. If you’re on convoy don’t waste your time with this place.

The soup was excellent, but I felt the dumplings were only so so. Our pot stickers were overcooked and tough and chewy. Other dumplings were OK, but nothing to rave about. On the other hand, the soup was very good. Be warned that a large bowl of soup is a very large bowl of soup.

We've been going to the Dumpling In since it was just a little corner shop adjacent to the current location. When they moved and added the Shanghai Saloon, we were a little nervous that they might lose some flavor and authenticity, but thankfully they did not. The Soup Dumplings (XLB, on the new menu) are the reason to come. Everything else is the reason to come back. Ask for House Noodles. Yum!
