The food is very good here but I’m very disappointed in my experience. I ordered Banh Cuon Dax Biet with meat but got something completely different (the shrimp powder) and it was a very small portion. When I started eating I thought the meat is at the bottom, but didn’t find it, half way I told the owner he messed up my order. He just ignored me and made an excuse that the plate I received is more expensive than the one I order. This isn’t even the point, the point is I went there for a specific dish. I am not coming back there are plenty of other bang coun places in San Diego. I am disappointed it didn’t work out.
I came here for my first time and will 100% come again! This place is low key a great hole in the wall. Not many places have Ban Cuốn which is my favorite of all time. The food and service was absolutely fantastic! The staff was so positive and even practiced a little of my Vietnamese with them. They’ll be seeing me again.
Why would you have your restaurant listed as dine-in... have 9 people eating outside.. only to have been told I can not eat at the restaurant.. sounded shady!
I 've been here a few times now, trying out different dishes. While I 've gone on different days, different times, this is a fairly quiet place in part of the same building that houses Vinh Hung grocery store. A few days ago, I ordered cha gio (Vietnamese style fried egg rolls and a large of their popcorn chicken. One of my nieces and her friend devoured the chicken. I can say I definitely like the fried egg rolls (albeit quite small . Yesterday, I tried the pork chop with steamed egg loaf. Since I was trying to order one dish with add ons, they suggested a similar dish and substituted a fried egg instead of the pork floss for me. What I loved was that this is one of the few Viet restos around that serves bone in pork chops, which is far far juicier than bone out. (But accept a fork and knife because it 's really tough to eat pork chops with chopsticks. They also supplied a nice bowl of beef broth with fragrant chopped greens on top. Now one word of caution: the food IS very good, but it is a bit pricier than most Viet restos around here when it comes to the soups and main dishes.. Also, the menu page linked to from their Google Maps entry is very outdated, with current prices nearly double what was listed. Still, I 'd recommend this place and the food. You might find something you love. They also have some nice pub fare that you simply cannot get at other Viet restos the aforementioned popcorn chicken, jalapeno poppers (if I recall, and more . Pull up to one of their benches on a Friday night, watch some sports on their big screens, and dig in to some snacks or a full meal.
