Angry Chickz San Jose (saratoga Ave)

Food was pretty good. Very similar to Dave's Hot Chicken. Environment was clean and spacious. Overall, not great, not terrible.

Got the #3 combo extra hot and honestly it was too much. I find most of the hot chicken chains are never that spicy to me. This place is HOT. But I don't think it's a flavorful heat, just painful. I'd get hot or even medium if I went back. The food is ok. Big thick chicken tender. Theres a lot of extra bread on the slider and not that much coleslaw.The fries are very good.We also got an extra tender with Mac and cheese. That was not a good value. $6 for a little cup of Mac and cheese and another $6 for one tender.The Mac and cheese tastes out-the-box.$16 for the combo and no drink included.Overall this place is really expensive for what it is.

Got combo 3 and mixed. Got hot on slider and medium on tender. I love hot ?. So if you wonder hot is hot. Medium was better only because then you got to enjoy the chicken too.

OK here we go. Angry Chickz has cured me of my spicy chicken sandwich fetish. There is not much new to see here.The buns are cheap Walmart type buns, they use chicken strips/fingers, so you end up with too much bun. The slaw is OK.Bad management, one girl working her tail off up front while everyone else goofs off in the back. No one cleaning tables.There are some positives. If you are a heat freak they have you covered. They REALLY bring the fire! ??️. I would not go above Hot on their scale if I were you. The chicken strips, though small, are pretty good.The fries were great as was the fry sauce but they hardly put any sauce in the cups so we had to ask for 4 plastic cups, so wasteful!Oh, we also liked the Mac, spicy chicken and fries on the bottom. Great keto dish! ?I was going to give 3 stars but I think under normal conditions, pre-2019 with a motivated workforce and better buns, this would be 5 stars.

I eat spicy things, so I ordered their 2nd to hottest level, tenders with fries.I was not questioned or warned, which I appreciated, and the food was ready quickly.Oh my god it was hot. Place is legit; often a restaurant will be like 'ghost pepper ' this, 'spicy ' that, and it is a joke, a product designed to make non spicy people feel like they accomplished something.That is not happening here.It wasn 't as hot as, or at least not as intense as a Paki Challenge chip, but it was the hottest thing I have eaten since I had one of those, and it reminded me of it a bit, just marginally more manageable and with more substance to moderate to effects in the gut.I finished it, and I will go back, but I will order 1 maybe 2 levels lower next time. Angry Chickz is no joke.
