Maple City Diner - Saint Albans

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years while visiting St. Albans from Maine, and generally, we've had good experiences, usually for breakfast or lunch. However, our visit tonight was disappointing. Our server was a young woman, and sadly, our food was lukewarm. The burgers we ordered were overcooked, and my husband’s “Whoa Big Burger” with pulled pork on top was extremely dry, as if it had been sitting out for a while. To make matters worse, we waited half an hour for our drinks, which included soda and a Bloody Mary. We were at the restaurant for over an hour with only two other tables occupied, and our server never returned to check on us. Additionally, we had to ask for a spoon, which was never brought to us. Given this experience, we think we’ll stick to breakfast in the future, as the morning staff has always been attentive and the food consistently good.

The food here is exceptionally high quality. The Fried Fish and Chips remind me of summers spent in York, Maine, with the fresh haddock cooked to perfection! The Friday steak dinner is seared just right, while the Broccoli Cheddar soup is absolutely divine. The attention to detail, flavors, and seasonings from the chef or chefs is remarkable—it's more like dining at an upscale restaurant than a diner! The Maple Cream Pie brings back nostalgic memories of Vermont maple syrup; it's sweet and indulgent. Even the salads look chic with their microgreens! This place is definitely worth a visit each week! Thank you for the wonderful food and outstanding service! You really must try it for yourself; come in and experience the most delicious food ever!

I've been going to this restaurant for years, and I absolutely love the staff and service! Even when we order meals to go, like our favorite prime rib, they are always perfectly prepared and packaged. It's an awesome place with a casual, comfortable atmosphere. Thank you all for your hard work!
