Excellent food, and great service! Love their 霸氣大袋雞!
I had been there many years ago and didn 't enjoy the meal much as at time there are many other choices of Taiwanese restaurant that did much better and made more homey meals. Returning to them yesterday Jan 2018 I was surprised to find that their service and food improved a lot. Everything taste so fresh and authentic. Their seasonal hot pot you know that sticky one reminds me of the trip to Taiwan many years ago. We had also ordered the Dog Eat Pig Bun 刈包 which I found it taste even better than those I had in Taiwan before. I will look forward to night market this year, because Salty Chicken Nuggets 鹽酥雞 do not taste the same without the paper bag and stick.
My first experience was simply 'I 'm in a hurry ', as such I asked which item was the fastest to prepare; it was a lightly battered squid, the tentacles as opposed to the bell. The blend of salt, basil, breeding and perhaps a touch of peppers was perfect ! Crispy, hot, and perfect fit the awful vancouver rain day I was having . Friendly service, and they specialize in deep fry. Today was the popcorn chicken, possibly the same type of batter I was not disappointed ! Again, hot, fast, and tasty . Both served with sweet chili sauce .
I order take out of tomato beef shank soup to go. It took a long time considering I was the first customer in. When I got to open it I was disappointed for what $13.00 got me Some old looking beef shank, wack of tomato paste with some vegs 2 boiled slices of tomato This is stuff I can make myself G8 is nothing special Music was LOUD inside the place. It was cold inside the restaurant also. I usually eat next door but saw many people inside the G8 So I tried it, never coming back Got better and more food next door
