I've previously visited the Broadway location of Baguette Co last year, where I've tried their Chocolate Success and Lemon Tart, both of which were quite good. During my visit to their Davie location, I got their Quiche Lorraine and Apricot Almond Pie. I also asked for their Royal Chocolate Cake, but unfortunately the staff made a mistake and I wasn't paying attention) for when I got home, I found that I got the Chocolate Success again oh well). Mistake aside, I did enjoy the food, and the prices are quite reasonable. This is definitely worth a visit.<br/ <br/ Quiche Lorraine $5.95):<br/ 3/5<br/ This contained ham and eggs, and was topped with some herbs I think it was rosemary/thyme). The filling itself was delicious, and was creamy with plenty of ham and would have been 4/5 on its own). I really didn't like the herbs however: they were dry and the flavour was very strong and really did not go well with the rest of the dish.<br/ <br/ Apricot Almond Pie $4.75):<br/ 3.5/5<br/ This consisted of a crust that's filled with almond paste, apricot, and almonds. The filling was very flavourful: they have a generous amount of almond paste and apricrots, and lightly sweet. The bottom crust was a bit tough and gummy, but the edges were flaky. <br/ <br/ Chocolate Success $5):<br/ 4/5<br/ I had actually asked for the Royal Chocolate cake, since I've already had this one before at the Broadway location, but unfortunately the staff made a mistake and gave me this cake instead oh well). This consisted of two thin layers of cake sandwiching chocolate mousse, and is coated in another shell of chocolate. The cake was moist and tender, while the mousse as luscious and rich. I do find the outer chocolate to be a tad waxy.<br/ <br/ Summary:<br/ Food: 3.5/5<br/ Price: 4/5<br/ Service: N/A<br/ Overall: 3.5/5<br/ Recommendations: Chocolate Success
I actually didn't go to any particular location, we stumbled upon this company in Surrey. They came out for Cloverdale days (Cloverdale shut down a street for a day and had lots of vendors). The baked goods are to die for. If money wasn't an issue, I'd have bought the guy all out of his baked goods. My tummy was very happy. You could tell the goods were baked fresh and daily. Will be to their store front soon enough.
Not bad. I agree with many other reviewers here. Their pastries are good. I ordered the petite cake and tarts. The only thing that they can improve is using real chunks of Apple in Apple turnover instead of finely blended apple sauce. I will return for sure to try their almond croissant!!
I grabbed a lemon blueberry muffin from here the other day, and it was great. Just a really nice muffin, served by a wonderfully friendly and smiling staff member. Well priced product and great quality. How can you go wrong?
My friend and I stumbled across this place as we were walking by and decided to pop in and try some of the desserts. We each ordered a mini flan and oh my goodness it has got to be the best flan I have ever had. Not too sweet and just the perfect degree of denseness as I dislike flans that are too custardy. My friend immediately bought two full size ones to bring home while I decided to hold off, deciding to check out cobs first before making my decision. Needless to say while I love cobs, I made a quick turn around heading back to the cafe to purchase a piece of flan of my own. I also tried their napoleon and while I 'm not too too fond of the fondant topping, the rest of it was delicious. I can 't wait to go back to try their croissants and sandwiches.<br/ <br/ edit:<br/ <br/ It 's been half a year since my first visit and it remains to be one of my top favourite places to eat anywhere (not just Vancouver)<br/ <br/ Try the palmier you won 't regret it. Rich chewy and flaky pastry smothered in carmelised sugary goodness.<br/ <br/ The sandwiches are awesome. My personal favourite is 'the big appetite ' which consists of chicken, lettuce, tomato and hard boiled egg. I also recommend trying the chicken brie (it also comes with dried cranberries otherwise the name is pretty self explanatory)<br/ <br/ Whenever I visit, I always order the all day lunch special. $10 for a sandwich or panini, a dessert and a drink. Free wifi and good, reasonable priced food great study spot
