Service was a little bit confused but overall we had a good experience. We came here for lunch and had 2 pasta dishes one with broccoli and sausage which was divine!! Really tasty food overall.
We were temped by a man playing the guitar, but we soon realised it was the wrong choice. Some typical locals seems to gather here and are served first and faster than the other guests. When we started to complain, service became unfriendly. We had scallopine and lamb chops, but that were minimal pieces of meat. In the end they even tried to cheat us with the bill. Avoid this restaurant, it is nothing more than a tourist trap.
This is our second visit here and although our startershad come out rather quickly, our mains took 55 minutes. Our children were tired and our toddler was falling asleep on his high chair. I've ordered the genovese spada (swordfish) and got genovese with octopus, which wasn't even on the menu. Earlier that evening a customer had complaint about his meal and was forced to pay for it, when he didn't eat it. His wife saw the cook cough on their meal and they didn't like it, can't blame them. After a rather disturbing exchange of words and tones of voices not up to restaurant standards, there were brief exchange of punches and it ended with the customer knocking off the menu board and the owner grabbing another customer's plate and throwing it at the customer and his family, which smashed to pieces on a wall missing the daughter by a hair. The owner later on apologised, but the damage was already done. He should have handled that a lot more civilised. My children were scared as they've never seen something like that before. My husband's birthday dinner will be one we won't soon forget.
The food is great, fresh and authentic cookung no doubt. I am Argentine born with Italian blood and although I speak basic Italian, literally, I spoke Spanish/Italian to them and they seemed to be grateful for that. As soon as we walked in to the restaurant though, I did have to get a bit Italian with them, attitude wise, and I am a Leo as well, if you know what I mean. Everything after that went smoothly. They are not bad people but if you don't like the way you being treated, speak up. Us Italians are used to it, just make sure you are not rude that's all. I will definately go back again. After all by the time we were done with dinner, we ended up having tge best chat with the owner in Span/lian. Great memories.
