This restaurant was reccomanded to us and I am still to understand why The place is shabby, broken floor tiles and uncleaned We ordered their strong plates the bauletti a type of pasta, they were swimming in tomato sauce and not at all tasty Even the cold cuts were not fresh and the olive ascolane made with a very strong meat very fatty The Campofilone pasta with mushrooms was slightly better
Some friends invited me to have dinner at the Rustichello , I couldn’t wait as I had heard about some of their dishes since long time, especially about the “Bauletti” and the “Gesuiti” some very tasty filled pasta dishes. We didn’t have any entree as we opted for some good pasta , the “Bauletti” (pasta filled with ricotta cheese and spinach baked in tomato sauce) , the “Gesuiti” (pasta filled with cheese baked in bechamel) and some Campofilone maccheroncini with ragú (bolognese meat sauce). Then we had some veal steak (lombata) which was tasty and tender and some grilled lamb with the typical local fried sides “olive all’ascolana” (fried stuffed olives) “cremini” (fried sweet pudding cream) and French fries. When then ordered a home made tiramisu which was good and filling. The ambiance of the restaurant is simple, it’s a big place and it tends to get crowded on weekends. Layout and furniture seems to be original from the eighties. Price was not expensive for our foods, really good price/quality relationship. Will repeat for sure!
Rustichello restaurant will never disappoint. Always busy but we find service to very fast not waiitng long at all. Not trendy, you feel like you're stepping back in time but in saying that restaurant is very clean, tables have crisp white table cloths with white cloth serviettes. We will always make our way there a few times while we stay in SBT. Food is delicious tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms are devine. They have several traditional oven pasta dishes that are also delicious, my boys are always happy to eat there. The fried olives are fabulous you can't stop eating them. The waiters are very professional know how to give good service. It is well worth a visit you won't go home feeling hungry. Highly recommend. Very well priced.
