Chili's Grill - San Diego

The food was tasty, but the service was a bit slow and the atmosphere was lacking in comparison to other restaurants we have been to.

It seemed like a casual bar for some reason. The Hennessy margarita was quite sweet but overall it was pretty good. The food was just okay, I would prefer to eat at BJ's.

The service at the bar was slow, the drinks were average. When I ordered a $5 Modelo beer from the menu, the bartender asked me what size I wanted. I requested the happy hour size, but it was charged at $7.49 on my bill. The manager eventually fixed the error, but I was left to figure out how to correct it on the computer device myself. The bartender was frequently absent from his post behind the bar, causing delays for customers waiting for drinks, food, or to pay. Additionally, a staff member stood behind me loudly communicating with another employee through an earpiece, which was disruptive and unprofessional. Overall, I was not impressed with the service and experience. I may not return for some time, as the Philly sandwich I ordered was just average.

Ordered from the map, was super easy and on time. Would try the shrimp pasta again!

I recommend that the restaurant train their servers to be more aware of when their customers are in the midst of a conversation. It is not considered appropriate or good service to interrupt. I suggest either coming back later or patiently waiting for the customers to finish speaking before approaching the table. Interrupting guests does not provide good service.
