This is Tucson, the self proclaimed foodie town so naturally, you can 't throw a rock around here without hitting some sort of sandwich/sub shop. That being said, with so many different options it can be hard to find something that stands out from the rest of the crowd and yet... Hogie House has managed to do just that. The classic vintage design fits perfectly with the warm atmosphere and friendly, personal experience you get from the staff and the quality food that they serve. The menu is quite extensive and just like with most sandwich shops, you can customize your order to your liking. I personally had the 12 meatball sub and it was absolutely HUGE. It was absolutely stuffed with massive juicy meatballs, great sauce, and my own customized toppings. As someone who has been to places like Subway many times before, the sheer size and quality difference is astonishing. I saw several reviews that were complaining about the menu prices here but considering that you would pay at least close to the same amount for less than half the quality at a Subway, I 'd say that the price is justified. Give it a try and see for yourself though. :
The service is always great and the food is as well. They make it with care, and its always good portions. Our favorites are the turkey, the Carmichael, the pastrami, and the steak and onion. My dad likes the tuna as well, but they have plenty to choose from, and honetly, they are all pretty good. You can't go wrong.Family run also a plus. Give them a shot.
Pros: Fresh baked bread, huge portions of tuna and veggies, employees friendly, restaurant was extremely clean.Cons: I couldn't order more to try because I was too full. I'm definer coming back again to try their other offerings.
Tried Hoagie House for the first time today. Had a tuna salad and a cheesesteak. The tuna salad was the better of the two. The cheesesteak needed more cheese or mayo or something else it was a bit too dry. Overall it's OK.
