La Costenita Mexican Food - Santa Ana

Bad food, bad service, and overpriced on top of it. They only got my business because their neighbor--El Cabrito, which has good eats--had just closed for the evening. Never again. There's only one place to go for a good quesadilla de chivo (goat meat) in Santa Ana--El Cabrito.

Took a good 40 minutes until we got our food served. The ambiance was terrible bad customer service , we had to get up and ask how much longer for our food to be ready and so did another women. the same people in line were waiting for about 15 minutes to finally get their order taken. The worst part is when you finally get your food after a long wait and it not even be good. : the food lacked a lot of flavor and was very simple. Mole verde con tamales was lacking flavor , the Pozole did not taste fresh nor tasted good almost like if it was a couple days old. And the taquitos dorados the pozole came with were very stiff rather than crunchy and also tasting old. We ordered a chamoyada that we never got and at the end had to remind the workers for we then waited 10 minutes for it and got nothing and got told its being made. we decided to just leave and forget it . guess this spot can be a hit or a miss depending the days. I tried to Order food to go, (i have ordered before with no problem) mind that it was 3 things; Pozole, menudo and Beef soup. They have never asked for my card before, I didn 't have the card on hand so i asked them to wait on me. The young server told her boss that she has been waiting on me to give her my info, I literally heard them say to each other just hang up. They hanged up on me, and I 'm a regular here, I was Surprised on their costumer service. I have celebrated my mom 's bday at this location, I usually go in once a week. The food is good but they think they 're too good to give great service. So disappointed....

I asked how much a pound of birria cost, and immediately the cashier looked at me as if I had asked for free food. She looked at me with a serious face. I asked for 2 pounds and the woman immediately changed her face with an expression of

Definitely never coming back to this place again. Visited this place with my family after hearing good things about it from some friends and their band. All food, service, and atmosphere was a 0/10. Going in the crowded place, it was a free for all- nobody even greeted and the whole place and was insanely dirty. Ordered some taquitos dorados and let me say that the chicken was not edible- it was as hard and dry as a rock, if not even worse! You can easily tell none of the food was fresh. Owners don’t care about their business with such exaggerated prices. None of my family was content after eating here and I even felt sick. Would never recommend this spot for anyone.
