Good cafe and restaurant menus. Try the seafood and meat plater, but be warned it's large you might only need 1 between two people. Food portions large. Average prices, well cooked and presented. Bar food cheaper and good. Friendly staff
We stayed 14 days in a very good hotel Chateau De La Roca in the same building. Restaurant Aida has excellent, local and tasty food from breakfast till dinner. As to the excellent quality, variety of food and service we enjoyed the services every single day when we stayed in Santander. The owner lady was extremely helpful although we did not have common language to speak but everything worked! We felt that we were treated as quests of honor every time. We highly recommend Casa Aida suits certainly every taste with quality!
I went there with my family, it used to be in another place but they 've moved a while ago and we used to like the food so we teied it again. The new location is not as convenient and almost imposible to reach without a car. The food was excellent and the services amazing (fast and friendly). We tried a few things but I will recomend the tabla mar y tierra which is a mixed platter of meat, seafood and a few veggies and the pulpo (octopus) which was well cooked amd the mojo on the side was a tasty surprise. The price is not cheap but it was ok for the food and the wine. I will be comming back for sure.
After a 600km car journey, we checked in, fatigued, at the Chateau La Roca hotel above this restaurant. At the recommendation of the reception manager, we sought a light meal at the Aida below. At 20h00, we found the place empty, apart from a local man having a coffee. A disinterested bar waitress told us we would have to wait until 21h00 for food. No tables were laid, and not a menu in sight; it all looked like a gastronomic wasteland! We know the Spanish eat late in the evening, but one would have thought that this establishment would be capable of serving food to hotel guests at any reasonable hour! Surely a captive market? We, like Alan C from North Wales, saw the lobsters in the tank but settled for a glass of wine each and went off to bed somewhat hungry and very dissatisfied. If this place was classified in Santander and not Sancibrian, it would surely rank 350th!! SO, if you're staying at the Chateau La Roca hotel, and EVEN IF you are tired, go 500 metres down the road to eat at the highly regarded La Tucho. Try them for next day breakfast too, as the hotel's offering isn't the best!
