Del Taco - Santa Monica

Food is usually tasty (although the image of a worker lightly scratching their head with gloves still on that they make food with because its convenient , still makes you think twice) also sometimes great deals thru app. The current staff however (and it seems to be constantly revolving of new hires) is becoming increasingly discontent can be heard being unhappy in some drama and openly heard speaking ill of others on many occasions. About other employees, managers or customers. Low moral rundown attitude. Common theme of customers surprised that it takes so long for order to be taken and then for food to be served. People who come on their 30 min lunch breaks heard expressing with frustration after waiting 10+ min, 'how long will it take '. Some employees while are nice individuals nevertheless show their ignorance making productive conversations pointless, as simple observations get misconstrued and sidetracked into finger pointing dismissive stigmatizing territory. As it stands currently don 't seem like a fun place to be working in.Summary: Professionalism is in short supply, 'just be happy you get your food ' attitude.

The bathrooms were locked and as someone with IBS it’s a very stressful situation because you cannot hold it. I also paid for food here I should be able to use a restroom and it’s illegal to not let a consumer fyi a customer not use a restroom. Also the staff is very rude here. We also asked them if they could open the restrooms and they said no. Also there was not any beef in my taco this is ridiculous, I went to another del taco and their service was 100% better. Fix your issues. Have a good day

UPDATED REVIEW: The people working there now are not as nice as when I originally wrote my review. Recently I was walking and I stopped there. The door facing the street was open and I walked to the counter. The staff started yelling at me asking me how I even got in there like I was a criminal. They said the front door was locked. I was like well I guarantee I didn 't like pick the lock or something? Then they refused to take my order or let me use the restroom and told me I had to leave immediately. Look, I am not an unhoused neighbor. I am a middle-aged woman and not any kind of problem person or threat or anything like that. I literally opened the door which was unlocked and walked in there and they were like you can 't be here which like??? RUDE AND LAME. I probably won 't ever get Del Taco again from *any location* because of being shouted at when I was not wrong!ORIGINAL REVIEW: The nicest people work here!!!!!!!!!

Guy who took my drive thru order was playing games. Food was trash. Tasted awful, was lukewarm, and gave me bubble guts. Never again from this location.

I love Del Taco but don't live in Southern California anymore so rarely get to go. Stopped in here on my way to an event with what I thought was plenty of time to spare. Ordered just a few tacos and fries and it took just under 35 minutes before I had to tell the woman behind the counter it's been half an hour and I have to go so can I just please have whatever is ready in the order. To her credit she was apologetic and even said I could come back later to get the rest of my order but I was out of time and needed to go. Food was still good but it was like the staff was working in slow motion as more and more people stood waiting.
