Sunstone Winery - SANTA YNEZ

What a lovely place! I had such a fantastic time wine tasting today! It was really hot in Santa Ynez, but we had an amazing experience. We enjoyed a wonderful day sipping delicious wine!

What a stunning location to enjoy some delightful wine! This has quickly become one of my new favorites in the area. They had an excellent Grenache blanc that was refreshingly perfect for a sunny day.

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, and there was just one server who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We preferred to go up to the bar whenever we wanted a refill, allowing us to control the pace of our experience, which was refreshing. The background music was pleasant, and the weather was simply perfect. Additionally, you can tour the cellar and purchase delicious Balsamic vinegar and other fantastic products. The winery is conveniently located near Solvang, a charming Danish village that transports you straight to Denmark. If you're looking for a peaceful, enjoyable, and unique day in an unforgettable setting, I highly recommend visiting Solvang for lunch and then spending the rest of the day at this lovely winery.

I had high hopes for this winery but left disappointed. Seated tasting is the setup.Parking was plentiful.Food. Pizza looked and smelled amazing, which was oven fire done by a food vendor.Restroom. Two regular restrooms supplemented by porta-johns.Hosts seated me as a walk-in without delay.No entertainment. Corn hole doesn’t count. Not even background music was played.Servers walked around and poured everyone drinks but my table. The place was probably at about 40% at capacity so they weren’t busy. There were 4-5 servers behind bar area without attending to guests. All of them but one server should be away from the bar area, attending to guests and being observant of the guest area. I waited for about 20 minutes before deciding to leave for another winery.A solution would be either to have a bar setup so the servers don’t have to walk around or provide guests with a walk up service option. Not knowing what tables needed to be served shows disorganization and cluelessness of staff.

A stunning property which makes you feel like you are in the Tuscan countryside! Mid week serenity. I imagine it packed on weekends. $25 testing fee for the 5 basic wines, which are fine. Those are $45/bottle unless you are a club member. A lovely place to picnic close access to the San Marcos pass hwy.
