Our favorite dish was the roasted cauliflower. The staff was welcoming and the room comfortably decorated with eclectic groups of paintings on the walls. Music played in the background, but soft, so conversation was easy. We will definitely return when we are next in town.
So glad we finally try this hidden jewel! The dishes are creative and tasteful and there is no doubt that the ingredients are fresh.
We had an amazing culinary experience at Amuse on Broadway. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and we couldn't find a better place. We ate the kitchen table. The whole meal of appetizers, wine, ducks, dessert and coffee was fresh and delightful. I give him my highest recommendation.
What can I fault to take away stars from this review? It’s been three days since we dined here and I still can’t think of a single negative aspect of the experience. Our Open Table reservation was confirmed upon arrival, and we were offered a choice in seating. The menus for both beverages and food are brief. While only beer and wine are available, the offerings are more than adequate and well thought out. Two different house-made breads were brought to the table along with marinated olives. Both breads were excellent. One was a non-yeast style with fennel and topped with sesame seeds – sooo good! The other a peasant style with great texture and flavor. There were three categories of food presented: Tapas/Mezze; Tangines/Cazuelas/Paella; and Pizza. We managed to finally decide on the Hummus $12) and the Grilled Chorizo $15) as appetizers. My wife thought for sure that the Chef added something special beyond cumin to the hummus to make it taste so flavorful. The caramelized onions and sherry with the chorizo links had just a hint of spiciness. It was a perfect blend of flavors. Fortunately, the dishes are offered in both “small plate” and “entrée” portions. We simply ordered all four dishes as small plates. Vegetarian Tagine $13/25) nicely blended tomatoes, eggplant, squash, and chickpeas. Beef Tagine $17/32), possibly our favorite, had a little bit of sweetness from honey along with prunes, yams, cinnamon, and ginger. The beef was a cut that benefited from its slow, tenderizing cooking and yielded up a wonderful flavor. Syrian Cod Curry $15/29), another in the running as our favorite, only mildly spicy in its curry, spinach, basmati rice, and chilis. Moroccan Paella $16/28), a delicious and beautiful presentation of rice with chicken, merguez sausage, peas, and olives was even better the second day. My wife, who always avoids lamb dishes, found the sausage quite good. We’re looking forward to another visit even if just for drinks and tapas.
It's always an outstanding experience at Amuse! We were so excited to try the new menu (and a few of the classics). Don't miss the hummus I literally ate it with a spoon! The breads are served hot out of the oven! The merguez sausage was a favorite at our table! Dominic has such passion for food and it shines through in every single bite! And the service is excellent Ryan and Elise are always friendly, helpful and fast! I can't recommend this place enough!
