Mediocre Hawaiian food. Teriyaki chicken and short ribs is too sweet for local Hawaiian fare. It 's more like mainland teriyaki that you can get anywhere in the Seattle area. Macaroni salad was passable but overall, don 't expect Rainbow Drive In or Zippy 's. $26 with tip for a combo teriyaki chicken and short ribs with rice, macaroni salad, and a can of Coke. Poor value.
Chicken katsu is a really large portion of plate, it’s enough for two people. Beef patty is a little bit dry. Considering the price, here is a really good place to grab some comfortable and quick food after shopping.Food: 4/5
I was expecting to arrive at King St Station with 30 minutes between connections, so I placed a pickup order through their website, which allowed me to pick a specific time for pickup. I selected 5:30pm. I got a text at 5:07pm that it was ready. I tried calling, but the call would not go through. Yep, it was cold, and I didn’t have the time to have them make a new one. Why bother letting the customer select the time if you’re just going to make it right away, anyway? I was 15 minutes late getting there and I knew that might happen, but figured it would still at least be a little warm. But after sitting on their counter for 38 minutes, no chance.
Aloha Plates is a Hawaiian take out place right inside the food hall of Uwaijimaya. Lunch can get busy, but is the best time since they just make the mac salad right then. Prices are decent and portion size is good, taste is there as well. The service is good, they cook things right in front of you. There is very little seating inside the food hall so be prepared to take it to go.
