I booked a table for two and a Dry January experience at Rasai Indian.Right after entering the restaurant, I had one and only surprise for the night. The restaurant was smaller than I had anticipated and hence had no bar counter. My expectation for the Dry January experience was to be ordering drinks at the bar and the tender making these delicious drinks in front of me giving me the experience. Not a huge deal breaker though.Taste wise, the Dry January drinks were great. My wife and I both loved the taste of 4 out of 5 drinks presented. We loved the taste of the food. In my experience, you rarely find such delicious Indian food at a restaurant in the Greater Seattle area. And the impressive thing is that they didn 't have to use a lot of spices and masalas to make their food taste authentic or tasty. Dishes just had the taste from their ingredients which is a rare find nowadays.Presentation wise, we loved the cutesy presentation of everything. The attendants were very respectful and attentive. The food was presented in an aesthetic manner and the drinks were all photogenic.Along with the food, we also loved the portion. The size of each dish was in such a way that with one two starters, one small plate and one main dish, you can have two people 's belly be full. Of course this includes the 5 Dry January drinks. So if you 're not doing that, maybe include one more small plate or one more main course dish.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu. One or two per course. However, I didn 't see a clear distinction for vegetarian items. We had to ask and confirm if some of the dishes were vegetarian.Parking: There is street parking available and it is free on weekends.
Had a great dinner at Rasai last night. Loved the wine options available, and the staff were very friendly in taking us through menu options due to a nut allergy at the table. A few in our group identify as picky eaters and were a little worried about the menu being different to what they were used to, but everyone ended up really enjoying what they ordered. I had the goat biryani and it was delicious. I also tried some of my friend's lamb, which was very nice as well. It's a little pricy but I enjoyed our night out and think it would be a great place for anyone looking for a nicer-than-usual dinner out.
Entree was delicious but dessert was really bad. Entrees chicken and lamb was soft and flavorful. Appetizer was okay. Service staff was courteous and made an effort to explain each cocktail. 20% Gratuity was added to our check (2 people) and that was unexpected. Outrageous price was dessert which was runny and tasteless. Won't go again or will just do takeaway for entree.
