Was planning to go Kim San Leng just besides but passed by this place and since fiancée is from KL, she felt fascinated after seeing chee chong fun so she wanted to try. To be honest, the environment looks like its a pretty good cafe etc. We ordered a couple of items such as original beancurd, original chee chong fun, ipoh white coffee, meatball porridge and pumpkin cake. To me, only the beancurd is nice. The rest are normal only. My fiancée says chee chong fun when eat w green chili is good. I tried still ok lah. The pumpkin cake is pretty nice. Porridge is soso not much taste and meatball abit hard maybe im porridge lover so i expect alot more. Ipoh white coffee i guaranteed its from sachets, you can get from supermarket. Overall spent $16 for 2 pax. I'm ok to come back here again for breakfast if pass by but not purposedly drive here.
Was told of this joint and made it a point to come over with few friends for late breakfast/ early lunch… small outlet (they do a lot of deliveries too)… was lucky to get a table… ordered few items to share… the special ccf, dry noodles, curry ccf, assam laksa and pumpkin cake… food is generally good… personally special mention to the pumpkin cake and special ccf…. Will come again to try other delights such as the nasi lemak and beancurd… price point around 10 per head…. Enough to fill the tummy and a bit more…
Located next to Kim San Leng coffeeshop along a row of shop houses, parking on the street can be a bit tricky depending on the time of day. The restaurant has limited seating, with only 8 tables available for dine-in. The chee cheong fun here is incredibly smooth and delicate, making it a pleasure to eat. Both the pig skin curry and Anson versions are delicious. The curry noodles are flavorful and the chicken is tender, but unfortunately, the noodles were overcooked. The asam laksa uses sardines instead of mackerel, which wasn't to my taste, but the thick beehoon had a nice Al dente texture. The fried bean curd skin is crispy and flavorful. The yong tau foo items are best enjoyed soaked in the curry Kee’s sauce. The fried chicken wings reminded me of the ones I used to get from Malay maciks in school canteens. This is a self-service restaurant where you order and collect your food from the counter. Extra condiments are available upon request. I will definitely be returning for the chee cheong fun!
The chee cheong fun at Anson is unique compared to other dim sum places. It is served 'dry' with fried shallots and green chilli, which sets it apart. I was delighted to find this dish in Singapore! The Nasi Lemak is also authentic Malaysian style. Make sure to buy some heong biah to enjoy at home. The food is very fresh and delicious!
If you're missing Malaysian cuisine, this is a great spot for dine-in. The Anson Chee Cheong Fun is delicious, the curry noodle gravy is rich, and the curry pork skin is superb! The yam cake is flavorful and satisfying. The only downside is that the prices are a bit high.
