Good old Hokkien Mee! It's one of the best I've ever tasted! The chef reportedly simmers the broth overnight using shrimp heads to deepen the flavor. After a...
There was a long wait for the Hokkien Mee, but it was definitely worth it! The prices are reasonable, and the portions are satisfying. I really enjoy how the noodles are moist and infused with that delicious wok hei flavor.
This is the best Hokkien mee I've ever tasted. I can't really distinguish it from the original stall in Geylang. The highlight of this coffeeshop is the fantastic bar/drinks stall that serves cider, draft beer, and craft beer, which pairs perfectly with the Hokkien mee. Today, their oyster omelette was also exceptional, featuring large, juicy plump oysters.
While this place is decent, it doesn't quite compare to the original Geylang Lorong 29 Hokkien Mee. They offer a range of dishes, including Hokkien Mee and fried oyster omelette. We ordered the Hokkien Mee and Fried Oysters, both priced at $10 each (see the photos for size reference). The dish came with six large oysters, which was satisfying enough. The fried oysters skew more towards a wetter texture rather than crispy. The Hokkien Mee is flavorful and enjoyable, but I still prefer the version at Lorong 29. The chili sauce here isn't as impressive either. Overall, both dishes are substantial enough for two people to share.
