The care and quality in the food preparation were truly evident, especially given the extensive menu. Each dish was remarkable, including the clam miso soup. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff provided friendly and efficient service. The fried oysters were perfectly done, with a light batter and a delicious tartar sauce that complemented the flavors without overwhelming them—definitely made from scratch. The mini uni don featured excellent uni, and the crab miso served in a crab shell captured the taste of the sea beautifully. The butter garlic mushrooms were generous with both butter and garlic, bursting with flavor. I will definitely be back!
We were seated in a traditional Japanese style, which was a nice touch. The food was delicious, though the prices were a bit on the higher side.
I had a truly authentic and excellent Japanese meal. The sashimi was fantastic, and I particularly enjoyed the salmon Kamameshi and the gyu tan (beef tongue) with bitter gourd. The restaurant has a charming, cozy Japanese atmosphere. I will definitely return during my short stay in Singapore.
This is a lovely little Japanese restaurant run by Japanese owners. It's popular among the Japanese community, which leads me to believe the food is good and authentic. I absolutely love their fried oysters!
During my first visit in January 2022, my daughter-in-law recommended that I try their signature dishes. I have to give 5 stars for the Metai cabbage; its crunchy sweetness combined with the delightful taste of Mentai was fantastic. The Tai fish was also impressive, with fresh flavors and a wonderfully sweet soup—definitely worth a return visit. I also suggest trying the monkfish liver, salad, and salmon belly, as they were all quite delicious.
