They roast their own small batch coffee, which is a bit on the pricey side - $5 for a cold brew, but the dark blend was excellent. I appreciate that they use paper straws here. The coffee house is always bustling with a mix of locals and tourists, making it a popular hangout spot. It has quickly become my favorite destination in Sooke. Stop by for quality coffee and also a perfect stop for those cycling or walking along the Galloping Goose trail.
The barista was very friendly and welcoming. I tried the Nicaraguan drip coffee and was delighted. Pricing is the same for all sizes. The date square was delicious. It made for a nice and affordable snack as we traveled from Victoria to French's Beach.
Oh my goodness. This place is absolutely amazing! The ambiance and energy are fantastic and so positive! I enjoy stopping by Sooke for a cold brew or drip coffee. It's so refreshing and delicious!
Must Stop Here!. Located in the heart of Sooke, The Stick in the Mud is by far my favorite coffee shop in the area; their V0S1N0 (a 'Sookie ' word play on the traditional Americano) and a gluten free muffin served up hot by a smiling and friendly barista is always the highlight of my week when I get a chance to stop in! The Stick in the Mud boasts a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, great coffee, wonderful food, fabulous people, and all the charms of Sooke. Do NOT pass through Sooke without stopping here!
Excellent coffee drinks, and all with organic milk!. I've always loved the amazing lattes, friendly staff, and cozy, local atmosphere of the Stick in the Mud in Sooke, and that their coffee is expertly roasted on the premises. But I've only just learned that all their coffee drinks are also made with organic milk, and that they have been going to the trouble and expense to provide an ethical and healthy choice too. Now I'm now stopping for coffee even more often, if that's possible!!!
