I ordered takeout from GX Express and was really disappointed. The food had small portions for both starters and mains, and the dishes were swimming in oil, which made them hard to eat. Overall, the experience was not enjoyable.
Ordered a curry takeaway on a Saturday night (6.30pm) for family and friends. Told to collect in one hour at 7.30pm. I promptly arrive on time to be told they are running behind and will be 5 mins. A ridiculous time of 50 minutes later my order is ready. Many other customers are having the same issue and ask for full refunds some are given and some are not. I wasn’t offered any form of gesture or apology upon leaving safe to say I won’t be going there again.
Having had a disappointing take-away meal from Maliks Express in August; due to all the dishes swimming in oil, I chanced a revisit I phoned to order a take-away for pick up, specifically requesting that they keep the amount of oil to an absolute minimum. The result? Another meal swimming in oil; from three dishes I spooned off almost an eighth of a pint of oil, no exaggeration. This take-away was my go to and head and shoulders above the rest. It's such a shame that it's no longer an option.
This used to be my go to Indian takeaway. I revisited recently to find the food was pretty awful. The Chicken Jalfrezi was absolutely swimming in oil, as was the dhall and sag. I'm not sure if it has changed owners or if the chef has changed. Either way, it may be worth mentioning when you order to keep the oil to a minimum.
