The Crown Inn - South Northamptonshire

I stayed at this restaurant with my young son at the end of an 8-day vacation, just passing through on our drive home. It was the most comfortable night's sleep I had during those 8 nights, even though we had stayed in two different places before. The bed was so cozy that I plan to email and ask about the mattress! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was a bit expensive, but it was delicious and definitely worth it. The room was lovely, everything was clean, and the location was beautiful. The breakfast was continental, but it was the best continental breakfast I've ever had - with smoothies, juices, a variety of coffees and teas, a big selection of nice cereals (including gluten-free options), a fruit and nut selection, fresh fruit, croissants, and homemade bread for toast! It was a great start to our day. We will definitely stay here again next time we are on our way to the Isle of Wight. Thank you!

We didn't eat at the inn, but we had a nice dinner. However, the fish and chips were a bit dry. The staff were friendly and the service was great.

The room was beautiful, but the breakfast options did not include any hot food. The lighting was not ideal for eating breakfast. The bathroom was nice, but lacked shelving for shower items. There was no parking available, only street parking.

We booked one night initially and then had to call later to get an additional night. This was not a problem they just shuffled to room allocations around to accommodate us. From to moment we arrived they could not be more helpful and friendly, both the owner (Mickey? and Claudio the manager made us very welcome and took care of everything we wanted. The first night we ate in the restaurant and the menu and the food was great. I had the Osso Bucco which I haven't seen on a menu for years!. Breakfast was a continental style with all you could wish for and there was the possibility of doing your own boiled eggs which suited me. The bedroom was a good size, very clean and well decorated and the bed was very comfortable with a good selection of pillows. The ensuite bathroom was a good size and had a very convenient walk-in shower. The Inn is located in a quiet small village so at night there was no traffic noise, very peaceful. Parking was no problem because there is probably room for 6 to 8 cars off the road just at the front of the Inn. We would definitely go back again!

Our second visit.. hidden gem in beautiful village. Claudio is a fantastic host...nothing is too much trouble for him. Substantial and quality continental breakfast, meats, cheeses, eggs, cereals, fruits etc and home made bread which is delicious. Rooms are spacious, clean and bed is really comfortable. Evening meal is fabulous...best steak ive ever eaten. The service is also freindly and efficient.. You feel like part of the village as the locals are very welcoming and hospitable too. The owner, Mike and manager Claudio welcomed our hearing dog in training with open arms, provided a dog bed, bowls and treats !! Thanks again and see you soon
