Absolutely amazing portions! Chips were very chunky and tasty. Fish tasted amazing. Excellent menu with plenty to choose.

Ordered obviously due to current situ, called and collected within 15 mins even though super busy. Large portion sizes, very good value for money not to mention the quality. Would 100% recommend if you’re in the area or visiting.

I always rate a chip shop by there fish . And i have to say the fish was brilliantly fresh and tasty . If i had had time i would have gone back for more

I stopped by this restaurant when it was raining. The old red hut, located on the seafront, had a great name. My daughter had a chicken burger with chips and really enjoyed it. My son had cod bites and chips, which he also enjoyed. I had the cod and chips. The meals also came with peas, a cup of tea, and a slice of bread and butter, which was very nice. The only small issue, if any, was that the peas were a bit dried out at the bottom of the dish, possibly due to overheating or microwave use. Besides that, the food was very good. The place was clean and the staff was friendly.

I recently visited The Red Hut chippy in South Shields while out for the day. We decided to sit indoors as it was a bit cold outside. The fish and chips we ordered were some of the best I've had in a while; the chips tasted homemade and the cod was beautifully flaky and delicious, covered in a light and tasty batter. The meal also came with a drink and a round of bread and butter for a reasonable price of £7.70. The portion size was generous enough that my wife and I shared it and felt satisfied afterwards. The owner even offered us an extra plate when he noticed we were sharing. The service was polite and not intrusive. Although the fish was cooked to order, there was a bit of a wait, but it was definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this place and would gladly return in the future.
