We decide to take a full day of antiquing and drifting in Sebring. We were starved with lunch. We arrived at a weekday at 1:30. The next weekend was the 12 hours on the Sebring race track. It was nice outside and the big pavilion was full and loud. We wanted a quiet lunch, so we went in, we sat on a stand in the back. Not much quieter. That was my first visit. The bathroom was very nice and clean. Our waitress was very good and top notch. I ordered my wife and I. Escargot, roasted green tomatoes, an onion soup for the woman and fish sandwich plate for me. For the price there were a lot of snails and of course lots of butter and garlic, it came with a side of perfectly roasted garlic bread. Our tomato plate had a lot of 6, the tomatoes were not as sour as we like, but they had a good taste and crisp what we loved was the thick breadback that boiled to a light brown consistency. Our eyes were bigger than our stomach. We had eaten the appetizers and bread when the net arrived, we were pretty crowded. My wife said her soup was very good, but she couldn't fully enjoy it so she got a container to go. I was the same, but I've eaten my great amount of pumice, which by the way were the absolutely BEST Fries I've ever had, not too thick or thin, golden brown and piping hot. I have to go for my fish sandwich and my accusations. My wife and I ate our left overs for dinner. She enjoyed the soup and was glad that she brought it home to enjoy hunger. My sandwich was perfectly roasted on very fresh hoagie roll and had a lot of fried fish on it, which was a big bread, not too thick and the fish was fluffy and tender. With all the accents it made for a very big sandwich. We were in and out for about $45.00 before the tip and we got two meals out of it, I will call that a good value. I was happy with every aspect of the visit and look forward to our next trip to Sebring.
The water hole is on the hill! I visited here for lunch on Saturday the 12 hours Sebring car races to show what was a great restaurant that we often visit. We ordered drinks and an app (the pulp). We also ordered steaks. My was a big fillet Mignon ordered rarely. When the steak arrived, I cut it in to discover a $40 steak that was boiled. Everyone on my table agreed that the steak was not rare at all, as I ordered it. I never send food again, but I found that I couldn't justify the price for a boiled steak. When I alerted our server Emily, she agreed that it was not boiled to the right temperature and said she would rotate the chefs the order. When I came back from washing my hands, I found the same steak on another plate (this time without my sides) and was informed by my family that Emily said that the cook would not be the order, even after cutting my steak in half and see the non-pink medium steak sitting on the plate. I was shocked, but too embarrassed to make a scene and was still shocked to find that my waitress had returned the same meat that was cut up by the cook and not offered to take it out of the bill. Emily was very nice, but didn't stand on the chefs they probably fucked to return the overcooked steak. I can't recommend Cowpoke's Watering Hole until management takes control and the chefs learn to do anything except deep fry food. I tipped Emily $30 and our bill with tip, was $200 total check #5/50012 2:24 pm.
We went to Watering Hole to celebrate after an exciting weekend in Sebring Raceway. Helen, our server, was very friendly and badly manned. The food was good, but it was because our server was quite annoying, although we had many laughs due to their setting; she was the running joke of the evening.
