All in all, I would expect more thai from a thai restaurant, especially if it supposedly sports thai chefs.. i guess i am more thai myself in such a case? The main part of the restaurant seemed not very well ventilated, but the bathrooms were clean, however the whole building looks more like an industrial site, really.. there is a garden area in front (in summer) and a train passing by ever so often, so that 's that.. it beats me as to who 'D be voluntarily coming back, but apparently it 's all that !?
After much anticipation, here we are at Khen 's Isan Garden. My husband and I have a litmus test for Thai food if their Tom Yam Kung is good, then chances are high that the other dishes would also be good. Khen Isan 's Tom Yam Kung is decent the prawns were fresh, and we were even given special chili flakes to spike our own soup to our liking! Next up was Som Tam (green papaya salad) the crunch was there, but sadly, the subtle fragrance of green papaya was drowned in a dressing made with Thai sweet chili sauce a big no no! We were a bit apprehensive by the time our third order came along Lab Gai . The well balanced use of kaffir lime leaves redeemed an otherwise mediocre dish. Finally it was time for our second litmus test the green curry. At first taste, our Green Chicken Curry shouted of coconut milk and fish sauce... lots of fish sauce. Our verdict: the ice cold Chang beer was the highlight of our meal! Based on the dishes we ordered, Khen 's Isan Garden lacked the funkiness we hoped for. We continue our search for the real deal.
The best Thai food far and wide, we like to drive the 50km each time. They always feel welcome, also beautiful outside in summer. Soups are only recommended!
The restaurant is pretty hidden. In summer you can sit well outside. The tables are covered. There is a very wide selection of Thai dishes. A table adds the card with other specialties. The service is very friendly and fast. The food tastes excellent and abundant. I can recommend the restaurant without restriction.
The best Thai restaurant for me. In addition to the incredibly delicious food, the staff are totally sweet and nice. You always feel welcome. I love it!
