Needed a good cup of coffee to get the day started and a bit of pastry to go with. The latte was good and strong, the almond croissant was very good. Not many places to sit, staff was competent but cool.
Visited St Alban's lovely branch for the first time with my family. Lovely food products to purchase, place very nice. Unfortunately, the barista had to make me a 2nd cup of coffee as the oat milk was off. He argued that it shouldn't be off as it lasts for ages!! It may do, but how long that carton was out for, I don't know. 2nd cup tasted very nice but still not hot! Expensive for the size ordered and bought a large. Also bought a keto bar, great that they have lots of choice in terms of dietary requirements. I bought what looked like a yummy GF donut. Well it looked great, texture was good, but again, it was off, infact, I'd go as far to say it was rancid! Think it was made with coconut flour, and definitely wasn't fresh. Real shame.
It was the second time I’d used Nikora and I was disappointed with the attitude of the staff for a second time. The guy who served me seemed more interested in getting back to the coffee he had poured for himself on the surface behind the counter than serve me. However he did give me a smile when I said I wanted to order a single origin coffee and I have to say it was out of this world!! I had to get back to work so didn’t ask where the beans had come from and whether they have them for sale in the shop wish I had done though.
Popped in for a take away coconut cappuccino with my friend Jennie, en route, to the park, the venue is always very clean, and the staff friendly efficient, it's a shame due to covid rules we can't enjoy the coffee indoors sat by the historical photo of The Clock Tower, which like it's surroundings, doesn't look much different today. They have a selection of milks coconut, wheat, soya or dairy, my only criticism is they only have one size of cup, for a takeaway, unlike the bigger brands, but as criticism goes, it's not a big deal.
