Nice Sunday cavery at 5pm at night, still good choice of meats, great carrots. It was raining and the place was quiet, but a bit of a hidden gem for a quiet meal. Service: 4 Location: 4
First but strange experience. Gorgeous place, welcome was a bit stale, no atmosphere, carvery was mediorce, had better. Last of meat, so dry and shrivelled. Chef decided he had enough and walked out waving his arms and raised voice. Not professional, should not be in front of customers, feeling of awkwardness. But the Team did pick up and carried on best they could. Disgraceful behaviour. Shame as lovely place. Not in the area for some time so wont be visiting any time soon. Noteworthy details: Pleasant surroundings, decor.. Service: 3 Location: 5

I would not recommend visiting this establishment for anything. The lack of people skills from the employees was shocking. We were staying locally at a camp site and had taken the bikes out for the evening. Right off the bat we were not welcomed nor were we made feel like they wanted our custom. We had a drink and decided to head on down to the watermill down the hill, which was completely opposite side of the scale ; head here instead. The Balnoon Inn was supposed to be taking last orders at 10pm, so we headed back up the hill(on the bikes) sober about 9pm giving ourselves plenty of time to stop for a quick 1 before continuing to the site. Arriving at 9:40 we were refused drinks as they wanted to close early.... From the outside it looks lovely but it's pertentious fakery that should be more thankful for the passing custom. Don't waste your money or your time. Head to the Engine INN or the Watermill both are equally as welcoming and provide a perfect service.
