The Black Snail Cafe - Stalker

After trekking through the forest we were ready for food and drink. The cafe didn't disappoint. A large menu to satisfy all appetites although mainly fast food and snacks, however enough for lunch. The staff there were very friendly and helpful with great service. Clean toilet facilities and gift shop also available.

We had our lunch here after walking the Otway fly, we had coffees, wraps and schnitzel burgers, nuggets and chips and milk shakes. I was impressed with the reasonable prices, the food was very tasty, hot, fresh and service great, we would eat hear again if returning to the Fly for sure.

I guess I just don't learn by experience! Last time I brought an exchange student to the Otway Fly the staff suggested that we complete our activities and return to The Black Snail Cafe for lunch...you guessed it, no food left on our return! So after a couple of years and having an another student in tow we arrived earlier and discovered the cafe (well cafeteria) jam-packed with people. Again it was suggested that we take in the aerial walks and return for lunch....and again very grim pickings remained. It was 7 degrees outside and virtually all the hot food (soup, pies etc) was sold out. There were two muffins left and I was able to buy a toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwich which seemed to take a very long time to be made. My coffee was way too hot and consequently the milk was scalded. We were by no means the last people in the food queue. It had obviously been very busy and left over semi-eaten food littered the tables...I almost succumbed to helping myself to a bowl of left over chips but a half eaten wrap lay on top of them. I know that the location of the fly is relatively isolated but given that it was school holidays and the tour groups appeared pre-organised I would have thought that the catering should be much better....they do, after all, offer a food service until 1500 and coffee until 1600 (we were looking for food well before 1500). Next time I will pack a thermos and some of those soup packets you add water too.....

Between the 5 of us we were all pretty ok with the food! It's really cafeteria food so nothing special! If you have dietary issues take your own food! We were all pretty hungry after an exhilarating walk!

It is located in Otway Fly Treetop Adventures entrance. We bought some nuggets and chips with hot drinks. The lady who was at the counter is very friendly and she was rushing around and trying to everything while keeping good customer service.Even though food is bit pricey which is not a surprise in a location like this.
