Were on business dinner in this nice restaurant, which could not be recognized as one at first. But, the atmosphere was great, food and customer service even greater. It is slow food restaurant as business or pleasure dinners should always be.
My daughter and I rented kayaks next door at Dalarö Kajak and spent a couple of days paddling and camping on the archipeligo in the Baltic Sea. On the second day we woke up to pouring rain so we could not cook breakfast. We ate energy bars and nuts for breakfast and lunch, and had a long hard paddle into the wind that day. We returned our kayaks, showered and had to wait a few hours for our transportation... while hungry... when we found Bistro Solsidan. The owner was very friendly and helpful in translating the menu for us. My daughter is vegan and there was nothing on the menu for her, but they offered to cook her a vegan meal as one of the workers in the restaurant is vegan. I had a fabulous caviar and lamb shank with a nice wine, and my daughter had a perfect salad and great meal of vegetables with a tomato sauce that she loved. The owner was friendly and kind, and he made us feel like family. It was a perfect ending to a beautiful weekend, with an excellent view of the sea from the restaurant. This place is a real gem and I wish we could go back soon!
I had a birthday meal here for two after sailing into the harbor. I was very surprised by the ambience, quality of the food and the small but well chosen wine list. The menu was locally sourced farm-to-table fare (with the excellent local seafood added, of course). I had an excellent chicken dish in the style of Vitelli Tonnato. Not quite sure what it was when I ordered it but delighted I did. Completely exceeded my expectations with an arugola garnish which cleverly complemented the texture and taste. My companion had a Reindeer tartare-style hamburger which was superb and beautifully presented with a pomegranite relish perched atop. We enjoyed a good Provence rose and post prandial liqueur for about $120. All in the buzz ambience of the pale dining room which boasted bay windows commanding a gorgeous view over the harbor. Completely recommended.
Five us went here and we're treated really good, nice service and great food. Book really early in summertime of you want to sit inside. This is Sweden and the weather.... The seasonal offering had a width and freshness to it that makes this restaurant worth many visits. This is not Comme Chez Soi in Brussels or TRB but really good to be around Stockholm. Well worth a tour to visit.
