Sunset Grill - Sun Lakes

The only thing you can say about this awful fish fry terrible ribs is that they are way overpriced at $19. The ONLY decent food was the Salad Bar. Think sub-par frozen cafeteria quality! As a 2nd generation Sun Lakes Country Club home owner, I was completely EMBARRASSED at the POOR, OVER PRICED quality of food!! There are too MANY excellent restaurants near by. We won't be back any time soon. The service however was outstanding and the live piano music was excellent. But those things do NOT make up for BAD FOOD!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

The Prime Rib on Thursdays is outstanding! I believe you need to present your Sun Lakes card, but the food is excellent and the service is simply the best I've ever experienced.

The restaurant is very clean, and they do an excellent job with their fish dishes. The staff is also very helpful to my entire family.

The service was quick, but as soon as my mom and I sat down, we were approached by a server named Susan. She first asked if I had a shirt or something to cover my dress, even though it was perfectly appropriate. She went on to say that if her manager had been present, he would have asked me to leave. I then requested a different server because her comments were unprofessional, and there was no specific dress code apart from prohibiting bikinis. Fortunately, we were later attended to by a lovely mother-daughter team who complimented me and helped lift my spirits. They mentioned that Susan had made similar remarks to them. Overall, it was a nice place for breakfast, but I wish this incident hadn't occurred while I was trying to enjoy a meal with my mom.

I had to wait over an hour on Friday for a fish carryout. The portion of coleslaw was disappointingly small, and the container was less than half full. I wasn't the only one unhappy with the service; it seemed quite disorganized. However, the fish itself was fantastic, and the fish portion was generous. The potato was on the smaller side, though. Given that it's Friday and many customers were ordering fish, I would have expected the kitchen to be better prepared. I hope they can improve in the future.
